FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

A little more clarity.

Straight answers before you take the first step.

Who can use SettleBetween?

Individuals and businesses can initiate or respond with the same account. Business representatives declare their authority to act; this is not independently verified. Availability depends on reviewed jurisdictions and dispute categories.

When does the sender pay?

Every case starts free, including repeat cases. The sender pays the displayed agreement fee only after both parties sign. After both parties approve the final terms, the sender authorizes a temporary card hold. The receiver then signs, followed by the sender. The fee is collected only after both signatures are verified. There is no opening or ongoing case fee, and no subscription. The invited party can join, view shared evidence, respond, use AI help and sign for free. See pricing for case duration.

Will I ever pay as the invited participant?

No. Joining, responding, included private AI guidance, reviewing and signing are free for the invited participant. No payment card is needed. Any agreement fee is the sender’s responsibility, and payment gives neither participant an advantage in mediation.

What if someone says no or doesn’t respond?

Participation is voluntary. The recipient may decline or never respond. Silence is never admission or consent. There is no agreement fee unless both parties sign.

Is my AI adviser a lawyer?

No. AI may make mistakes and cannot determine legal liability, provide a binding decision or replace independent legal advice. Review all content and consider professional advice before agreeing to terms.

What can the other party see?

Only your submitted statements, shared files and proposals, plus the common mediation and agreement records. Your draft and private AI conversations are not shared.

Can I take back a shared file?

Information already viewed or downloaded cannot be recalled. Prepare a redacted copy and review it before sharing. Keep the original private.

Does a signature work everywhere?

Enforceability depends on applicable law, the agreement, each signer’s authority and the circumstances. Both participants approve the same version before signing. Keep the completed document and signing audit record, and obtain independent advice where needed. A test signature is not a production signature.

Can I leave or report misuse?

Yes. Use the workspace controls to leave mediation or report abuse. SettleBetween is not emergency support; obtain appropriate urgent help if needed.
